George W. Bush says “Miss Me Yet”

February 11, 2010

There i s a billboard about George Bush rumored to be on the Interstate 35 in Wyoming, Minnesota,. On the Billboard it had the words “Miss Me Yet” and a picture of Bush in a silly pose:

Many people have verified that it does exist and just another photoshop hoax.  I believe this was made to make people laugh and to think of what Bush didnt do for us when he was our President.  I read an article that said the people who funded the billboard are Obama supporters.Although some people say Bush was a better President than Obama and vice versa, I believe Obama has done good enough as of yet.  We will see what the future has in store for us and Obama as our President.

Having Sex in Public is Legal!

February 11, 2010

While listening to Latino 96.3 radio station in the morning, which broadcasts some talk shows during the morning and Reggaeton,Hip-Hop music, I heard this announcement:  some people in Kansas have come up with the idea to have sex in  public, well  public restrooms that is. Instead of having one bathroom for girls and one bathrooms they want to add a unisex bathroom. The unisex bathroom is for couples that want to have sex especially because of Valentines Day is approaching and can’t afford a place to have sex, or their parents live with them.

I believe Latino aired it in the morning because in the morning people from the ages of 17-35 are getting up and getting ready to work, school, or are in stuck in traffic. People who heard it  probably got a good laugh and thats what the station wanted, or was it?  The people who created this ad are probably trying to convey having sex in public isn’t and shouldnt be bad. Also, that we should be Open towards this idea. Another reason 96.3 showed this might also because it wanted to tell its listeners that in Los Angeles there should also be a unisex bathroom.

America Responds quicker to Haitains then Hurricane Katrina

February 5, 2010

I find it odd how the America responded differently to each of these catastrophes-Hurricane Katrina and Haiti Earthquake. One of the catastrophes was Hurricane Katrina.  When this hurricane hit New Orleans many people were shocked of what had happened and what they saw.  However, aid to help victims of  Hurricane Katrina was slow from our government.  It took our government about a month to help the victims, which caused fatalities.  People were in need of help, but it was slow, so they died.  Although New Orleans is part of the U.S., the rate of  help was much slower then the help of Haitain victims.

Haitains have suffered a terrible amount of damage, pain, and deaths, but the answer to help them has come rapidly. As soon as the earthquake happened America, offered a hand.  Food supplies, clothing, anti biotics and other much needed supplies were sent as soon as possible. Although, I agree on helping other people/countries, why was the response to aid these two catastrophes? I think that Haitains got help faster because they needed it more then New Orleans, which wasn’t in poverty befor the Hurricane Katrina hit. Also, I don’t remember if there were as many companies trying to help victims of Katrina then there were of the earthquake.  I noticed that phone companies planned to raise money by having customers text “Haiti” to some number. When people text “Haiti”, they would donate $10 to help in relief of the fund. Did Phone companies do this for Katrina victims?  I agree we should help the less fortunate, but first we should focus on helping our country first.

DEADLY Cars! Recalled

February 5, 2010

Lately Toyota, the best car saler in America, has recalled many car models. The most popular models that have been recalled have been the Corolla, Camry and some others. This is one of the biggest recalls ever. The estimated recalls are about 9 million vehicles.   The Toyota cars were recalled because  of the acceleration pedal would suddenly accelerate.

But one of the biggest top selling hybrids, the Toyota Prius, hasnt been recalled yet; However,”The vehicles also have other possible glitches, including headlights that suddenly go dark, The Times reported Friday” (LA Times.com). People are so worried about the danger that they don’t even want to drive the car back to the dealer and have called a tow truck to come pick it up.

I don’t understand why did toyota realeased these cars in the first place if they weren’t ready for the mass market.  Well when cars or just about anything is realeased to the public, the object is put under many tests to make sure it’s safe. As we all can see Toyota failed to put their car models through those tests, and as punishment they quite possibly losing millions of customers, and potentially new customers. Today, Toyota Issued an appology:

‘I am deeply sorry about the inconvenience and concern caused to our customers and others,’ says Akio Toyoda… ‘I regret this more than anything.’ (LA Times.com).

This is a much needed appology, to Toyotas customers and hopefully other car companies will learn from this.
